On November 9, the armed formations of Ukraine launched several strikes on the territory of Crimea and the Kherson region. A Ukrainian Neptune anti-ship missile was shot down off the coast of the peninsula on Thursday evening. And as a result of the attack on the city of Skadovsk, Kherson region, five people were killed, 10 more were injured. Experts note that the Ukrainian side does not have many long-range missiles, and "Neptunes" are shot down by our air defense when detected in a timely manner. Also on November 9, the Russian group began to actively work on the supply lines of Avdiivka: massive artillery, aircraft and drones are being delivered to Ukrainian communications.
Missile attacks
On the evening of November 9, a Ukrainian anti-ship missile "Neptune" was shot down over the Black Sea off the coast of Crimea, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
This is a Ukrainian development based on an old Soviet missile, military expert Vladislav Shurygin told Izvestia.
— The Ukrainian formations modernized it, brought it to mind for almost a year, — he explained. — They could not deploy normal mass production, so they do it piece by piece. Now they are not used as anti-ship. It is actually used as a medium-range cruise missile, which is capable of reaching the territory of Crimea. The missile is a classic, so it cannot be called an easy or difficult target. If the air defense detects it in time, it knocks it down.

At about 10 a.m. on the same day, the VFU launched a missile attack on the city of Skadovsk in the Kherson region.
"One missile was shot down by air defense, another hit the private sector, several houses were damaged," the governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, said in his Telegram channel.
According to preliminary data, as a result of the shelling, five people were killed, 10 more were injured, and a two-story house also collapsed, the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

Doctors assess the condition of the victims as moderate, and if specialized treatment is needed, they are ready to send patients to medical institutions in other regions of Russia, the Ministry of Health of the Kherson region reported.
At about 20:00, the VFU tried to strike again at Skadovsk, but the air defense system worked. This was announced by the head of the administration of the Skadovsky municipal district Sergey Shvayko.
Strikes on supply lines
In the Donetsk direction, units of the Southern Group of troops defeated the troops and equipment of three VFU brigades in the areas of Bondarny, Nikolaevka and Kleshcheyevka.

As sources familiar with the situation told Izvestia, the Russian Armed Forces began to actively work on Ukrainian supply lines in the Avdiivka area. Massive strikes — artillery, FPV drones, Lancets and aircraft — are inflicted by a group that bypassed the city from the north. "As a result, the Ukrainian formations lost a lot of equipment," the interlocutor of Izvestia stressed.
Holding the frontiers
During the day, Russian troops continued to successfully repel the attacks of the VFU in the Kupyansk, Krasnolimansk and Zaporozhye directions, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on November 9.
In the Kupyansk direction, units of the Western Group of Troops repelled three attacks by the VFU assault groups in the Timkovka and Sinkovka districts of the Kharkiv region.

In the Krasnolimansky direction, units of the Center group of troops repelled three attacks by special purpose assault groups of the VFU in the area of Kremennaya in the LPR.
In the South Donets direction, units of the Vostok group of troops inflicted a fire defeat on the personnel and equipment of three VFU brigades in the areas of Antonovka, Novomikhailovka, Novoukrainka and Ugledar in the DPR.

In the districts of Staromayorsky and Rovnopol in the DPR, the activities of two sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Theroborona brigade were suppressed.
In the Zaporozhye direction, the units of the Russian group of troops repelled two attacks by assault groups of the VFU north of the settlement of Novoprokopovka. Also, the troops and equipment of two VFU brigades in the area of Workino were defeated.
In the Kherson direction, a fire defeat was inflicted on the troops of the VFU on the islands of Melky and Alyoshkinsky.
Miracle sapper machine
The military correspondent of Izvestia, Semyon Eremin, visited the positions of Russian sappers and saw how the SU-4 helps them mine the territory in the special operation zone.
The car itself is small — it fits in the trunk of the UAZ. It weighs 80 kg, gets ready for work in just a couple of minutes, accommodates two anti-tank mines. Its task is to scatter them in fields through which tanks of the armed formations of Ukraine can pass. The SU-4 is controlled remotely.

The chief of staff of the Archangel Michael battalion with the call sign Mazai stressed that, first of all, the installation allows you to save the lives and health of sappers. Risking an inexpensive car is not the same as risking your own life.
— There are already results of application with 50-kilogram mines. The building with Ukrainian militants is developing with a bang! Even if it is impossible to get close to them after overcoming 10 meters, they still can't get away from us — 50 kg of explosives easily takes 2-3 km away! — said a soldier with the call sign Lawyer.
The Lawyer, who hails from Belgorod, took up this project together with his colleagues after his native region was attacked by the VFU. After that, he volunteered for the Donetsk division and brought with him a prototype of the SU-4.
The Mig-29 plane was shot down
In just a day in the special operation zone, Russian troops destroyed up to 795 fighters of the VFU and 29 pieces of equipment, including tanks, howitzers, self-propelled guns and armored vehicles, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on November 9.
Russian air defense systems shot down a MiG-29 aircraft of Ukrainian air formations near the village of Koptevo in the DPR. Seven HIMARS rockets made in the USA and 38 Ukrainian UAVs were also intercepted.
