Generalissimo Suvorov arrived at its base in Kamchatka

As reported, on October 16, 2023, the strategic nuclear missile submarine K-553 Generalissimo Suvorov (factory number 206) of the modified project 09552 (project 955A, code "Borey-A") arrived at the base in Vilyuchinsk (Kamchatka) as part of the 25th Division of submarines of the Pacific Fleet Submarine Forces after the inter-fleet transition from the Northern to the Pacific Fleet by the Northern Sea Route.

The K-553 Generalissimo Suvorov is the sixth nuclear-powered strategic missile cruiser of the new generation of the Borey family, and the third of the modified Borey-A project.It was built by JSC "Production Association "Northern Machine-Building Enterprise" (SMP, as part of JSC "United Shipbuilding Corporation") in Severodvinsk and entered service with the Russian Navy on December 29, 2022. The ship began the transition from the Northern Fleet to its permanent base in Vilyuchinsk, according to known data, on August 27, 2023.

Of the six nuclear-powered strategic missile cruisers of the Project 955 series commissioned to date, the Northern Fleet (31st Submarine Division) includes the lead ship of project 09551 (project 955, code "Borey") K-535 "Yuri Dolgoruky" and the lead ship of the modified project 09552 (project 955A, code "Borey-A") K-549 "Prince Vladimir". The Pacific Fleet based at Vilyuchinsk (25th Division of submarines) includes serial submarines of project 09551 (project 955, code "Borey") K-550 "Alexander Nevsky" and K-551 "Vladimir Monomakh", and serial submarines K-552 "Prince Oleg" and now K-553 "Generalissimo Suvorov" modified project 09552 (project 955A, code "Borey-A").
