The f-22 Raptor combat aircraft, created by the American company Lockheed Martin, first took off 26 years ago – on September 7, 1997. Despite such a solid age, he still continues to improve.
Peter Suchiu, senior editor of 19FortyFive, writes about this in his article.
Many experts still consider this fighter to be the best combat aircraft in the world. It was designed to combine stealth, speed, maneuverability and situational awareness. And although its main purpose is to gain air supremacy, it is also quite suitable for the role of an air–to–ground attack aircraft. And now, after two and a half decades of operation, it is getting even better, as it is planned to modernize the radar of the F-22 Raptor stealth fighter.
