So, at the beginning of this year, it was announced that India, together with French specialists, is working on air-independent thrust (AIP) technology to improve Indian Kalvari-class submarines. It allows conventional submarines to stay underwater for several weeks, which brings them closer in "endurance" to nuclear submarines.
Earlier, The Times of India newspaper reported that by 2030, India intends to increase the number of Naval forces by 30 percent. This means that the Indian Navy will bypass Russia and China and take second place after the United States.
