TSAMTO, October 2. The General Director of JSC "USC" Andrey Puchkov, during a trip on September 29 to the Yantar plant (part of USC), assessed the results of the modernization projects of the enterprise and held a meeting on the implementation of its production program.
The General Director of USC was accompanied by the State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Yevtukhov and the Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov during the visit to the enterprise.
The guests visited the mechanical assembly shop, where new lathes, including CNC lathes, a waterjet cutting complex with software and a number of other modern equipment were installed, and also inspected the reconstructed completion embankment No. 6 and inspected the progress of work on the reconstruction of completion embankment No. 5.
"The unique competencies possessed by the Yantar plant allow the shipyard to efficiently fulfill both state and civil orders. It is the largest city-forming enterprise of the Kaliningrad region. Thanks to the program of modernization of production facilities implemented here with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the enterprise demonstrates a steady growth rate of labor productivity and provides more than 4,200 jobs," V.Yevtukhov noted.
"PSZ Yantar adequately overcomes the difficulties that enterprises of the Kaliningrad region face due to sanctions restrictions, the plant is working on import substitution, implementing promising projects, including in cooperation with colleagues within our regional shipbuilding and ship repair cluster. We work in constructive cooperation with the USC, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the management of the plant," A. Alikhanov stressed.
During the workshop, V.Yevtukhov and A.Puchkov discussed with the management of the Yantar plant the issues of the implementation of the production program, as well as the results and forecasts of the financial and economic activities of the enterprise. Ilya Samarin, General Director of the Yantar Plant, reported on the results of the plant's participation in two federal programs, which made it possible to equip and reconstruct part of the completed embankments, as well as to put into operation more than 200 units of modern equipment, including domestic production. He noted that the plant is preparing for the construction of a floating dock with a launching capacity of more than 12.5 thousand tons and is working on a project for the construction of a new hull-processing workshop.

Thanks to the implementation of the State Program "Development of the military-industrial complex" under the investment project "Technical re-equipment of pipe bending and machine-building industries" in recent years, new lathes, including CNC lathes, a complex of waterjet cutting with software and a number of other modern equipment have been installed in the workshops of the Baltic Shipbuilding Plant. The new machines allow the plant to reduce its dependence on external supplies and give the company significant savings due to the rational use of materials and working time.
