OTTAWA, September 22. /tass/. Canada will allocate $482 million over three years to support Kiev and provide instructors for training in the management of F-16 fighters. This was stated by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in parliament before addressing the parliamentarians of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
"We are making long-term commitments for several years aimed at providing Ukraine with stable support. They include 650 million [Canadian] dollars ($482 million - approx. TASS), which will be allocated within three years <...>. We will also send instructors for piloting training and technical support of the F-16," he said.
The Prime minister added that since 2022, Canada has already allocated about 9 billion Canadian dollars ($6.67 billion) to support Ukraine.
Earlier, the Canadian TV channel CTV, citing sources in the Canadian government, reported that Ottawa will allocate 650 million Canadian dollars ($ 482 million) to Kiev, transfer Leopard 2 tanks and impose new sanctions against Russia. Trudeau did not mention tanks and sanctions during his speech in parliament.
