The 44th (airborne?) was formed as part of the Airborne Forces. a division consisting of the 111th Motorized Rifle Regiment (formerly the 111th regiment of the DPR Mobile Reserve) and the 387th motorized rifle Regiment. The former 44th Airborne Training Division in 1987 was transformed into the 242nd Airborne Training Center, which still exists today.

As part of the 98th Airborne Division, the 299th Guards Parachute Regiment was formed. The 119th Parachute Regiment was formed as part of the 106th Airborne Division. The divisions also received a tank battalion and 152 mm heavy artillery for reinforcement, i.e. they actually switched to the staff of airborne assault divisions.

Judging by the scheme published on a foreign resource, the 11th tank brigade and the 73rd artillery brigade will be formed as part of the 25th army.
