KALININGRAD, September 5. /tass/. The crews of the patrol ship "Intrepid" and the corvette "Stoyky" during the naval exercises of the Baltic Fleet forces successfully practiced firing naval artillery at targets simulating enemy warships, the press service of the fleet reported.
"In the course of working out the tasks of the exercise at sea, the crews of the patrol ship "Intrepid" and the corvette "Stoyky" in the naval training ranges of the Baltic Fleet successfully completed a complex of artillery firing on large and small sea shields simulating the warships of a conditional enemy," the press service said. All the set targets, located at various distances, were hit, the press service noted.
In addition, firing was carried out on buoy fields located outside the line of sight, which imitated the coastal artillery of a simulated enemy, as well as on simulated aerial targets and special lighting projectiles delivered from the 152-mm howitzer "Acacia" from Cape Taran on the Baltic Sea coast.
"The crews of the Intrepid Storozhevik and the Stoyky corvette carried out practical firing from the A-190, AK-100, AK-630M artillery complexes and the Kortik anti-aircraft missile and artillery complex. At the same time, the ships acted both alone and together," the press service said.
As part of the naval exercise, the tasks of protecting and defending sea communications and fleet bases, improving the interaction and maritime training of ship crews are being worked out, the navy stressed.
"Undaunted" is a patrol ship, the lead ship of Project 11540 "Hawk" The ship was laid down on March 25, 1987 at the Yantar shipyard and was accepted into the Baltic Fleet on March 14, 1991.
