KALININGRAD, September 3. /tass/. The newest diesel-electric submarine "Mozhaysk" during tests in the Baltic Sea made a dive to a depth of 190 m, the press service of the Baltic Fleet reported.
"During the dive to a depth of 190 m, the crew of the submarine and industry representatives checked the operation of all systems and mechanisms of the submarine, worked out algorithms of actions when controlling the ship at depths and with various methods of surfacing," the press service said.
The submarine was submerged by warships and the SS-750 rescue vessel of the Baltic Fleet.
"After the completion of the underwater part, the Mozhaisk crew carried out surfacing to the surface position and continued to carry out testing activities in accordance with the plan," the press service noted.
On August 31, it was reported that the crew of the Mozhaysk submarine, undergoing factory sea trials in the Baltic Fleet's sea ranges, had completed the first submergence of the submarine to a depth of 50 m.
Mozhaysk is a multipurpose diesel-electric submarine of the 636.3 Varshavyanka project, the eleventh in the series. The project was developed by the Central Design Bureau of Marine Equipment "Rubin". The submarine is designed to combat enemy submarines and ships, to defend naval bases, coastal and maritime communications, reconnaissance and patrol activities on enemy communications.
