There are more and more photos of Z-STS "Akhmat" armored vehicles present at the front or being transferred to the zone of their own, which allows us to talk about the growth of the fleet of these vehicles in the Russian army.
Initially, the Z-STS "Akhmat" 6x6 was used only by Chechen units of the Rosgvardiya. According to the publication Defence24, this model was designed specifically by order of Ramzan Kadyrov. The armored car is capable of transporting 10 fighters, has a high level of reservation and the possibility of placing a machine gun on the roof. Other units of the Russian army also evaluated the new equipment during the SVO.

So, in August 2023, a new batch of "Akhmats" armed with one of the units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was noticed on the approach to the SVO zone.
The Akhmat Z-STS was created on the basis of a three-axle all-wheel drive KamAZ-5350 (with the borrowing of a number of components from other armored vehicles), built according to the hood scheme and produced by Remdiesel. It has protection similar to the Typhoon armored vehicles (the body is made of rolled armor and equipped with armored glass). The car can be transported by military transport aircraft, for example, IL-76 or AN-124.
