The TCG Gediz frigate of the Turkish Navy has received a special marking that indicates the defeat of attack drones from weapons on board.
As reported in Tolga Özbek, this ship, moored in Antalya, was opened to the public on August 30 during the celebration of the local Victory Day [timed to coincide with the Battle of Dumlupynar in 1922]. Visitors found these "insignia", which depict Chinese-made Wing Loong II attack UAVs shot down, as indicated, in Libya.
Gediz refers to the Gabya-class frigates (deep modernization of the American ships of the Oliver Hazard Perry project), which have been patrolling the Libyan coast for a long time, covering ground forces from the sea thanks to on-board air defense. The marking with two downed UAVs is applied to the Mk13 PU, which fires SM-1 anti-aircraft missiles.

As noted, during the civil war in Libya, supporters of General Khalifa Haftar purchased Wing Loong 2 in the UAE, which had previously purchased them from China.
The American-made RIM-66A SM-1 medium-range air defense missile entered service with the US Navy in 1967. Usually, when firing, two missiles are launched to increase the probability of hitting the target.
