The oceanographic research vessel "Evgeny Goriglejan", built in the interests of the Main Directorate of Deep-Sea Research (GUGI) of the Ministry of Defense, became part of the Russian Navy. The ceremony was held at the Baltic shipyard "Yantar". This was reported by the USC press service.
The flag-raising ceremony was attended by the commander of the Baltic Fleet, Vice Admiral Vladimir Vorobyov, as well as the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Vice Admiral Vladimir Grishechkin. The order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Nikolay Evmenov on the ship's enrollment in the Russian fleet was read out to the crew of the OIC.

The oceanographic research vessel "Evgeny Goriglejan" was actually rebuilt from the MB-305 sea tug of the B-92 project, built in Poland in 1983, according to project 02670, developed at the Almaz Central Design Bureau. The formal laying (actually re-laying) of the vessel took place on March 19, 2016. In 2018, construction was stopped and resumed only in February 2020 after the renegotiation of the contract with the Ministry of Defense. The launch of the vessel took place at the end of December 2020, the factory sea trials were completed at the end of 2022. The state elections were held without wide publicity.
The OIC is named after the general designer of nuclear submarines in the Central Design Bureau of MT Rubin, Evgeny Alekseevich Goriglejan. Displacement - 4 thousand tons, length - 81 m, width - 16 m, autonomy - 30 days, crew - 32 people and 25 members of the expedition. The main purpose is "conducting underwater technical work". The OIC is capable of taking on board underwater and rescue vehicles.
