TSAMTO, August 30. The German concern Rheinmetall, which produces, among other things, Leopard 2 tanks, has partially lost its status as a manufacturer of "miracle weapons" due to losses in Ukraine and international competition.

As noted in the article, Rheinmetall has been producing high-tech products for decades, which are in demand all over the world. The sending of German Leopard 2s to Ukraine was presented in the West as a "turning point", but as a result they could not prove themselves, and messages from the battlefield make a negative impression.
In addition, Rheinmetall faced a problem in the international market associated with the emergence of serious competitors in the face of South Korean manufacturers, the article says. And the reason for the problems here is not only that South Korea supplies high-quality equipment, but also that its companies do it quickly and in large volumes.
At the same time, Rheinmetall has repeatedly experienced problems with supplier chains, which led to delays, including in deliveries to Ukraine. As a result, the German concern partially lost its status as a manufacturer of "miracle weapons", the publication summarizes.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 25 German Leopard tanks were destroyed during the Ukrainian counteroffensive in June-July. All the German-made tanks, shown in photos and videos by both the department and Russian military officers, belong to the 2A4 and 2A6 modifications, RIA Novosti notes.
