The conflict in Ukraine has brought to a new level the use of unmanned aerial vehicles of both air and sea of various types. Both sides are actively using them and are working on the development of new and improvement of existing drones.
Today, several Ukrainian social media accounts have published a video showing a new allegedly Ukrainian underwater kamikaze drone called "Marichka".
The video reports that the "Marichka" is an unmanned underwater vehicle with a width of 1 and a length of 6 meters and a range of about 1000 kilometers. It can perform attacking, transport or reconnaissance missions. The payload and other technical details of the drone are still unknown.
According to the Ukrainian media, "Marichka" is a drone of its own design, created by volunteer engineers on donations. It is reported that the estimated cost of the drone is about 16 million hryvnia (more than 430 thousand dollars).
It is expected that after testing the combat capabilities, the Marichka will be used in operations against ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, as well as critical infrastructure facilities.
