The mobile reconnaissance point PRP-5 "Mars-2000" is being demonstrated for the first time at the forum "Army - 2023".
According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta (the project "RG: Russian weapons"), the uniqueness of this domestic development, created on the BTR-82 platform, lies in the fact that the module mounted on the roof of the armored vehicle has a mast extended to a great height, equipped with an optoelectronic device and a radar station.
The latter can detect various targets, including enemy manpower, including individual military personnel, as well as military equipment. For example, a moving tank is detected at a distance of up to 15,000 meters. A 12.7 mm machine gun is used as a weapon.

The Mars deployment time is five minutes. The maximum speed on the highway is 80 km/h. The armored scout is able to overcome water obstacles by swimming. The fuel reserve is 500 km. The crew operating this technique consists of four people.
Last year, the "Army" showed the PRP-5 on the chassis of the famous infantry fighting vehicle BMP-3. At the same time, it was reported about the creation of a T-28 unmanned aerial vehicle for the complex, capable of being in the air for an hour and a half and working at a distance of up to 25,000 meters.
