At the forum, it will be possible to see equipment created taking into account the experience of a special military operation
The International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2023" this year will be held from August 14 to 20 on the territory of the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center, as well as at the Alabino training ground and Kubinka airfield. The events of the forum are planned in all military districts of the country. On the eve of the official opening, Izvestia talks about the novelties of the Russian military-industrial complex, which will be shown to the general public. Experts note that the manufactured equipment and the modernization of the existing one are continuously being developed taking into account the experience of a special military operation.
New armor
The exhibition features models of the latest modifications of the T-72, T-80, T-90 tanks with new elements of armor protection. A modified model of the promising T-14 Armata tank with elements of the Cape camouflage coating will also be demonstrated. It consists of covers or sections made of special material that hide the car from satellite and aviation reconnaissance.

A new multifunctional equipment based on a tank will be placed on the site of engineering equipment. The Universal Armored Engineering Vehicle (UBIM) is designed to clear the way for the advancing troops by dismantling fortifications. The powerful protection of the machine allows you to work at the forefront in the conditions of enemy fire. The first prototype of this product has already been shown to the general public, but a new modification is presented at the forum.
This year at the forum it will be possible to see new and modernized samples that have been tested in battles, military expert Vladislav Shurygin noted.
— The forum will show what has appeared in a year and a half, — he told Izvestia. — Special attention will be paid to this, since not only Russian manufacturers will be there, but also representatives of friendly states. They are interested in our weapons systems, which have proved to be no worse, and in some places better, than NATO weapons. This applies primarily to drones and armored vehicles. There are also new artillery systems, ammunition and much more. Small arms have been modified taking into account combat use. There is a continuous communication with design bureaus, which promptly make adjustments to their developments. New equipment is constantly being created and the existing one is being developed.
Among the equipment of the ground forces, the Kurganets-25 BMP, Iskander-M operational and tactical missile systems and other samples will be demonstrated.

Almaz-Antey Concern will present the Viking medium-range anti-aircraft system, modified taking into account the experience of a special military operation. It is capable of shooting down ballistic and cruise missiles and aircraft, including those made using stealth technology.
The Remdiesel company will show at the forum new armored vehicles designed for the needs of a special military operation, as well as two modifications of the well-proven MT-LB light armored tractor. One of them is an ambulance. It is designed to evacuate the wounded in the troop compartment and on the armor. The tractor is equipped with devices for transporting bedridden wounded, stretcher mounts, sanitary equipment. If necessary, instead of a set of sanitary equipment, a Cord machine gun, an AGS-17 grenade launcher or a Fagot anti-tank missile system can be installed on a unified platform. The second modification of the MT-LB is equipped with a 23 mm ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun.
New weapons
The Kalashnikov Concern presented a shortened AK-19 submachine gun chambered in NATO standard (5.56 mm). The presentation was held as part of the shooting tournament of war correspondents. During the development, the 5.45-millimeter AK-12, which is in service with the Russian army, was taken as a basis. The new automatic is characterized by improved ergonomics, adaptation to daily use, as well as increased accuracy and accuracy of shooting. The AK-19 was created for a foreign customer. The weapon is made in a shortened, so-called compact size. It implements the same changes that, according to the experience of the combat use of ITS own, appeared in the third generation of the AK-12. According to the customer's requirements, the machine is equipped with a silent firing device and a front fire transfer handle.
Last week, the president of the Kalashnikov concern, Alan Lushnikov, in an interview with Izvestia, spoke about the modernization of the AK-12 assault rifle. According to him, the developer strives to improve the ergonomics and consumer qualities of weapons.
The High-Precision Complexes Holding has put up a line of small arms in its exposition. Including the AGS-30 30-millimeter automatic grenade launcher, the GM-94 magazine grenade launcher, the 12.7-millimeter large-caliber VKS sniper rifle and other samples.

The number of enterprises participating in the forum has not yet been disclosed. Last year, 1,497 enterprises and organizations were represented at the exhibition, which demonstrated 28,536 samples of military and dual-use products.
Earlier, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the event will feature achievements of the IT industry, developments in the field of artificial intelligence technologies, unmanned systems and other novelties.
