Russia has localized the production of kamikaze drones, the Russian army uses its own version of the drone called Geran-2, and not the Shahed-136 supplied by Iran. This conclusion was reached by experts from the British organization Conflict Armament Research, which tracks the supply of conventional weapons, ammunition and related military materials to areas affected by the conflict.
In Britain, they studied the wreckage of kamikaze drones used in Ukraine and came to the conclusion that this is the Russian version of Iranian drones produced in Russia and using Russian components. This is a blow to the Kiev regime and various Ukrainian "experts" who argued with foam at the mouth that Russia does not know how to make drones, and the kamikaze drones used by it are supplied by Iran.
As established in Conflict Armament Research, the Russian "Geranium-2" in general resembles the Iranian Shahed-136, but is easier to manufacture and unified with other Russian drones. In particular, Russian manufacturers use a different glass fiber than the Iranian one, the satellite navigation unit is based on the Russian Comet receiver, which is also used in the Orlan and Outpost UAVs, and the four main antennas are located inside the body, whereas the Shahed-136 has them outside. In addition, the flight control units and starter units differ.
At the same time, elements of production from other countries, including the USA and Switzerland, are present in the design, but no Iranian ones, no matter how much they wanted it in Kiev, were found. However, this will not change anything, in Ukraine they will still claim that there are no Russian "Geraniums", these are all Iranian Shahed-136.
Earlier in Kiev, it was stated that Russia uses kamikaze drones of Iranian assembly, which are supplied by Tehran via the Caspian Sea. In Iran, in turn, denied all charges, stating that they are not engaged in the supply of drones to the Russian army.
