The Ukrainian puppet regime associates a lot of hopes with the imminent delivery of American M1A1 Abrams main battle tanks.
As noted by Rossiyskaya Gazeta (the project "RG: Russian weapons" ), Kiev experts are seriously discussing that one battalion of three dozen vehicles can somehow change the course of a completely failed offensive operation for the AFU. It is known that the fighting of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has now broken up into separate, as they are called, "meat assaults", accompanied by significant losses for them.
However, overseas tanks do not have any special advantages over other Western vehicles. Perhaps we should only mention the remote-controlled modules installed on the roofs of the towers with a 12.7 mm Browning M2HB machine gun, which are equipped with their own thermal imaging sights and can be used for air and ground targets.

However, it is not a fact that such systems will be installed on Abrams sent to the hotspot. The Americans themselves admitted that the equipment would be simplified as much as possible, allegedly in order "so that local crews could master it as quickly as possible." In fact, the Pentagon is afraid that these "gifts" may go to Russian soldiers as trophies, and without the secret "uranium armor", the 62-ton M1A1 will be vulnerable, as well as the Leopard 2A4/ A6 that has already burned many times. In addition, they have one feature: almost the entire ammunition (up to 36 pieces) is placed in a niche located in the stern of the tower. A successful hit of the Lancet barrage ammunition, 152-mm high-precision Krasnopol or ATGM launched from helicopters will cause the detonation of all these projectiles. After that, the tank will be suitable only for write-off.
Therefore, it is very likely that the Abrams delivered will be kept in the rear and used only for propaganda purposes.
A similar situation is developing with Challenger 2, they have long been in service with the 82nd separate airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but they do not appear on the line of contact. Initially, information came that the British ordered to lay explosive charges in them in order to undermine them in case of an unfavorable development of the situation, and then they were completely forbidden to send them to the front line.

With such an attitude, it is not surprising that, while advertising Western weapons, the APU is forced to use the still preserved old T-64 of various modifications and the T-72s supplied from Eastern Europe that have undergone a small modernization.
