New electronic warfare systems will deprive the enemy of chances of success, experts say
In the southwestern part of the Black Sea, a Ukrainian drone attacked a Russian warship escorting a civilian transport. The Black Sea sailors noticed and destroyed the enemy drone in time, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on August 2. The day before, in the same part of the water area, our ships sank three enemy drones. Experts note that drone attacks against warships are already not successful, and in the future the chances of the enemy will be even less — new electronic warfare systems should arrive at the fleet.
Dangerous water area
On the night of August 2, armed formations of Ukraine attempted to attack a Russian Navy ship escorting a civilian sea transport in the southwestern part of the Black Sea with an unmanned sea boat, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
— By the professional actions of the crew of the Russian ship, the Ukrainian boat was discovered and destroyed in a timely manner, — said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.
According to Izvestia sources familiar with the situation, the attack on the Russian ship was carried out by a Ukrainian drone of a new model. He was distinguished by greater mobility and maneuvering speed. Presumably, the basis of the drone was a jet ski, which has undergone a serious modernization.

On August 1, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Kiev regime attempted to carry out a terrorist attack using three semi-submersible unmanned boats on Russian civilian transport vessels en route to the Bosphorus Strait in the southwestern part of the Black Sea.
The Russian Navy ships accompanying the transport found and destroyed all three vehicles in a timely manner.
With surface drones, the Ukrainian armed formations are currently failing, military expert Vasily Dandykin told Izvestia.
— Of course, something else is trying to swim to our ships, but soon there will be no such opportunity, - the expert said. — A new generation of electronic warfare equipment is on the way, which will appear in the zone of a special military operation. And the enemy will not receive a fundamentally new weapon. The Ukrainian authorities are asking for more weapons: "Come on, come on, come on." But the Americans will now give it to Taiwan.

Tactical successes
In the Kupyansk direction, assault detachments of the Western Group of troops were attacking in the direction of the settlements of Novoselovskoye in the LPR and Timkovka in the Kharkiv region, improving the tactical situation, the Russian military department said.
— The attacks of assault aircraft and artillery fire defeated the accumulations of manpower and equipment of the VFU in the areas of the settlements of Timkovka, Kotlyarovka, Pershotravnevoye in the Kharkiv region, Novoselovskoye and Artemovka in the LPR, — said Igor Konashenkov.
In addition, two attacks by units of the Ukrainian 25th Airborne Brigade were repelled near the settlement of Novoselovskoye.

The enemy's losses amounted to more than 40 militants, two armored fighting vehicles, two cars, a Grad MLRS, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery installation, two Gvozdika, Msta-S self-propelled artillery and mortar installation Nona, as well as the Msta-B gun.
— During the day, the enemy suffered significant losses in different directions: Zaporozhye, Krasnolimansk, Donetsk, — said Vasily Dandykin. — We are talking about a thousand people. And a considerable amount of equipment was lost in the accident. This is very serious. It seems that they lack the ability and reserves to maneuver in certain areas, including Kupyansk and Krasnolimansk, and this began to affect the reliability of the defense — they began to withdraw. This is obvious and can be seen from what happens almost every day: on August 2, they lost two battalions.
Destroyed "Bogdana"
During the day, the VFU continued to unsuccessfully attack in the Donetsk, Yuzhnodonetsky, Zaporizhia, Kupyansk and Krasnolimansk directions.
In particular, in the Donetsk direction, the troops of the Southern Group successfully repelled 12 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Berestove, Disputed, Severnoye, Staromikhailovka, Maryinka and Krasnogorovka in the DPR.
In the area of Slavyansk, an ammunition depot of the operational tactical group of the VFU "Liman" was destroyed.

In the South Donets direction, units of the Vostok group of troops successfully repelled an attack in the area of the Harvest in the DPR.
In the Zaporozhye direction, four enemy attacks were repulsed in the areas of the settlements of Workino and Pyatikhatki in the Zaporozhye region.
In the Krasnolimansky direction, units of the Center group of troops repelled an enemy attack in the area of Novovodyany in the LPR.
In these areas, the VFU lost at least 840 people and 36 pieces of equipment, including three tanks, the US-made M777 artillery system, and the Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery system. Also, our units destroyed a wheeled self-propelled howitzer "Bogdan" of Ukrainian production.
Maryinsky frontier
The military correspondent of Izvestia, Stanislav Grigoriev, visited the positions of our servicemen in Marinka. The mortars do not allow the enemy to move freely around the forward positions and regroup. When the militants appear, they immediately open fire.

— Our work is as sudden as snow in summer. The enemy can go, but it's not a fact that he will be able to come back," said a soldier with the call sign Student.
With the activation of the VFU units, T-80 tanks come to the aid of our infantry. According to the correspondent, this car has a gas turbine engine, because of this, the sound from the engine is just an airplane.
Tankers are people with a lot of experience, they fought at Debaltseve. A soldier with the call sign Buran praises his driver.
— Indeed, an old-school fighter. To him: "Go ahead." He heard the command, gas — and went, " Buran said.
There are many age-old fighters in our units.

— I am a former trolleybus driver, my friend died. I knew him, his wife and children. At first, the motivation was revenge for him. Then I looked at what they were doing — it's motivating now," said Mikhail, who is more than 50 years old.
Right on the front line, our fighters are upgrading their equipment. The guys from Donetsk are sheathing the car in a circle with rubber from mine belt conveyors — this is their invention. Such improvised rubber covers serve as additional protection for the tank — they save it from cumulative ammunition.
Ukrainian warehouses are burning
During the day in the special operation zone, Russian troops destroyed at least 925 VFU militants and 43 pieces of equipment, including tanks, howitzers, self-propelled guns and armored vehicles.
In the Zaporozhye region, the control point of the 15th brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine was hit. Ammunition and fuel depots of the 60th mechanized Brigade of the VFU were destroyed in the Kharkiv region and the DPR.
