MOSCOW, July 30. /tass/. The main naval parade was held on Sunday on the Day of the Navy (Navy) in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt. The parade, which was attended by 45 ships, boats and about 3 thousand servicemen, was traditionally hosted by the President of Russia, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
The Head of State, accompanied by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergei Shoigu and Admiral Evmenov, toured the parade lines of warships in the waters of the Gulf of Finland, the Neva and the Kronstadt raid on the presidential boat, during which he congratulated the personnel of their crews on the Navy Day.

The guests of the parade were four African leaders and representatives of five other participating countries of the Russia-Africa summit and forum, held in St. Petersburg on July 27-28. Among them is the head of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso.
Among the spectators in the stands in Kronstadt were veterans of the Great Patriotic War and participants of the SVO.
Ships participating in the parade
In 2023, vessels of the Northern, Pacific, Baltic and Black Sea fleets of Russia were involved in the celebrations. Ten boats and four ships of the Navy, the FSB border control and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of St. Petersburg were involved in the passage of the ships along the Neva.
Submarines "St. Petersburg" and "Velikiye Luki", small rocket ships "Green Dol" and "Storm", as well as sailing vessels were placed in the Neva water area. The flagship, from which the passage of the parade formation was monitored, was the guard ship "Intrepid". 11 ships of the Navy and the FSB border control, as well as the Ufa diesel-electric submarine, were involved in the parade in the Gulf of Finland.
In the static display mode, there were five more ships of modern designs and six sailing vessels in the waters of the Neva River from Petropavlovsk to the Palace Bridge. The audience was presented with the 54-gun battleship "Poltava" (a copy of the ship of the same name of the Peter the Great era), as well as the brig "Russia" - the main symbol of the holiday "Scarlet Sails".
Two ships, a diesel submarine and two sailing vessels - the Dmitrov submarine, the Mytishchi small missile boat, the Boyky corvette, and the Mir sailing ship - were deployed on the Great Kronstadt Raid for static display. The famous sailboat Sedov, which turned 100 years old in 2021, was also shown. The bark is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest surviving training sailing vessel.
In 2023, the crews of sailing ships from among the St. Petersburg yacht clubs welcomed the participants of the parade at the Kronstadt raid. After passing the ships, they took the opposite course in front of the spectator stands.

The parade ended with a solemn march of the parade calculations of the military, pupils of pre-university institutions of the Navy of the Russian Federation and the UNG "Unarmia". In the evening, in commemoration of the Navy Day, in accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation, fireworks and fireworks will be held in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt.
