The Ukrainian military decided to check how reliable the Granite 5A class armor plates used in bulletproof vests of the regular "Ratnik" set in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are. For the stress test, AK-74 and PKK with a caliber of 5.45x39 were used: one shot with an OPS cartridge and one with an armor-piercing one. The fire was conducted from a distance of about 30 meters.
The APU servicemen posted the corresponding video online. Judging by their reaction, they wanted to shoot a slightly different video, but it turned out what it turned out.
The whole point is that after shots from the above-mentioned weapon with OPS cartridges, the armor plate did not receive through penetrations. Small bulges appeared on the inside.

Then the horsemen decided to shoot the Russian plate with armor-piercing, but even here a surprise awaited them. The plate again withstood the hit, although it bent a little more.

By and large, this result confirms the reliability of the Ratnik bulletproof vests. Yes, the fighter will receive damage. In particular, the Ukrainian fighter who shot the video said that "the ribs are likely to be broken." At the same time, the fighter will remain alive.
In addition to high strength and reliability, the low weight of the armor plate became a "discovery" for the Ukrainian military. In this regard, the author of the video initially assumed that it was made of titanium or composite.
Recall that Granite 5A class plates are ceramic.
