Images of at least two new hulls of the small amphibious hovercraft Zubr, which are in service with the PLA Navy, have appeared on social networks.
In this regard, the total number of MDCs of this Soviet project in the Chinese fleet reaches at least six. The first new building, numbered 3260, was first seen in May of this year; the second (3261) was captured a few days ago.
Earlier, China bought two "Bison" in Ukraine. Both ships (3325 and 3326) were delivered by 2014. Subsequently, the PRC built two more MDCs on its own (which were assigned to the Type 728 project): both numbered 3327 and 3328 were delivered by 2018. Since then, as it was believed, their production has stopped. However, new publications refute this.
The currently observed new "Bison" have minor differences from the 4 pennants already in service. So, they are equipped with a fire control radar in the place where an electron-optical guidance system was installed on previous ships. The design of the mast, which houses navigation radars and communication equipment, has also been redesigned, now it has a cross-shaped support structure instead of a simpler layout. The installation of rescue equipment along the superstructure is another small but noticeable difference.

- it is noted in the publication Naval News.
The Zubr remains the world's largest hovercraft, with a displacement of 555 tons at full load. It is capable of transporting up to three MBT (50 tons or less each) or 8-10 lighter armored vehicles over a distance of more than 500 km at a speed of over 50 knots.
