Iran has officially announced the commissioning of a new MiG-29 electronic warfare simulator. This was stated by the commander of the Iranian army, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, who visited the Shahid Sattari Aviation University in southwest Tehran.
The Iranian general noted that the electronic warfare simulator successfully passed all tests. It was modified by experienced pilots of the country's air force, so there are no obstacles to putting the simulator into operation. In the near future, the equipment will be delivered to parts of the country's Air Force, which are armed with MiG-29 aircraft. Now, according to open sources, there are at least 36 Mig-29A/U/UB aircraft in the Iranian Air Force.
According to General Mousavi, electronic warfare means significantly increase the combat capability of aviation units in modern conditions. Since the simulator was developed by specialists of the Aviation University named after Shahida Sattari, the general called it one of the most valuable achievements of national aviation technologies in recent times.
