In Uganda, the country's Air Force Su-30MK2 fighter was loaded on board the An-124

The An-124 Ruslan heavy transport aircraft of the 224th Special Detachment of the Russian Defense Ministry was recently filmed at the Entebbe Airbase in the Ugandan capital with at least one Su-30MK2 fighter of the country's Air Force in the process of loading operations.

Most likely, the African country is sending Sukhoi fighters for major repairs

- it is noted in the publication Analisi Difesa.

It is possible that technical work will be carried out not in Russia, but at the facilities of the Indian corporation HAL, with which the Ugandan Air Force signed a memorandum of understanding on the MRO of six Su-30MK2 fighters purchased in 2010 in Russia for $327 million on March 4, 2022.

KnAAPO aircraft were delivered to the Uganda People's Defense Forces in three batches of two aircraft in July 2011 (tail numbers AF 011 and AF 015), in October 2011 (AF 019 and AF 023) and May 2012 (AF 027 and AF 031).

Although the Su-30MK2 constitute Uganda's most valuable military resource, the African country has not used them in the military operations in which it participates (from the Congo and the CAR up to Somalia)

- explained in the publication.

At the same time, several fighters failed. According to available information, only three aircraft were in operation in the summer of 2016. A copy of the AF 015 crashed during landing in August 2016 and needed repair, and the front landing gear failed on board the AF 023 in February 2022.
