Military Watch Magazine: military equipment supplied by the West leads to the death of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Inefficient military equipment supplied from France led to the death of militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at the front. The American portal Military Watch Magazine wrote about this on July 3.
"Ukrainian senior officers complain about the limited capabilities of armored vehicles supplied from France on the battlefield in the conflict against Russia. The armor of the AMX-10RC wheeled tank is considered insufficiently effective for combat operations on the front line and leads to unnecessary deaths of crews," the article says.
One of the Ukrainian military complained about French armored vehicles and stressed that similar cases had occurred before. It is noted that some types of weapons transferred, in particular, by Germany and Italy, were also recognized by the Ukrainian troops as substandard and faulty.
Earlier, on June 23, the adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Mikhail Podolyak, accused Western allies of the lack of success of the AFU counteroffensive. According to him, the Russian forces managed to prepare a defense line while the West was hesitating to transfer weapons to Kiev for a long time.
On June 19, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that the country will always lack weapons until the conflict ends. The minister said that now the Ukrainian nationalists most need artillery ammunition and armored vehicles to carry out a counteroffensive. At the same time, he noted that military aid arrives in the country every day.
Prior to that, on June 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed at the St. Petersburg International Forum that by now the Russian military had destroyed about 30% of the armored vehicles supplied to Ukraine by the West.
Western countries have increased military and financial support for Ukraine against the background of Russia's special operation to protect the population of Donbass, which the Russian authorities announced on February 24, 2022, amid the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
