The Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region has upgraded the Dobrynya FPV drone, the device will be used as a universal training platform for training Russian servicemen and volunteers in the special operation zone. This was reported to TASS by representatives of the Telegram channel "Raven", aimed at helping the front.
Almaz-Antey Concern, together with the organizers of the Raven volunteer project, which trains FPV drone pilots, have upgraded the Dobrynya unmanned aerial vehicle. A universal training platform has been created, which is ideally suited to the characteristics that Russian servicemen need today to work in the SVO zone," the Raven association said.
According to the organization, after modernization, Dobrynya became a universal device for training specialists in three areas - piloting FPV drones, reconnaissance and reset systems. "Our task is to teach people to drop ammunition, carry out reconnaissance and dive into the target. Using the capabilities of Dobrynya as a universal machine, we will be able to train the necessary number of qualified specialists in order to cover the needs of Russian units in the special operation zone. It is no secret that today there is an urgent need for trained pilots of FPV drones," the organization noted.
The Dobrynya drone kits, along with the training program, will be transferred to Russian units for self-training of military personnel and volunteers in the field. "The devices together with the training program will be delivered to Russian units in the right quantities for independent training. At the same time, if the servicemen have the opportunity to get in touch, the instructors of the Raven association will be able to advise them during the training process," the association clarified. The duration of the educational program will be seven days.
The interlocutor of TASS also spoke about the work done during the modernization of the device. "We have replaced the camera with a stronger one, now it is also a reconnaissance drone. Secondly, the Dobrynya is equipped with a reset system, which has no analogues yet on any other Russian device. Third, this drone can be used as a kamikaze," the specialist said.
The Raven Association was established in March 2023. The project is engaged in the development and production of FPV drones, as well as training pilots and instructors. Within the framework of the volunteer project, over 550 certified specialists have been trained, some of them take part in the SVO.
The Dobrynya quadcopter was developed by the Almaz-Antey concern of East Kazakhstan Region for the civilian market. As representatives of the concern stated, the capabilities of the device allow to finalize it for military use in a short time. The drone was first shown in 2022 and attracted criticism from war correspondents and experts due to the abundance of foreign components.
