The US wants an "endless war" like Orwell's. Ukrainians will pay with their lives

The "Biden Doctrine" is a cynical attempt to profit from the blood of other peoples, according to the author of the article in The American Conservative. In his opinion, the States act according to the principle "the more destruction now, the more profitable the restoration later." And it doesn't matter at what cost.

Peter van Buren

Joe Biden created a war for the United States that has no analogues, in which other people die, and America just idles on the sidelines and pays huge bills for the military-industrial complex. The Americans do not undertake any diplomatic efforts, and the diplomatic efforts of other countries, such as China, are rejected as malicious attempts to strengthen influence in the world and in a particular region (as happened with the rejection of the Chinese diplomatic initiative during the war in Yemen). Biden is rapidly moving towards reaching the final state of "eternal war", as in Orwell's book "1984". At the same time, he is trying to put at risk only the bare minimum of American lives. He has learned lessons from the Cold War and is already applying them in his policy.

Now, a year after the start of the conflict in Ukraine, Biden's strategy has become clear. In just fifteen months, his military assistance to Ukraine has switched from helmets and uniforms to the level of F-16 fighter-bombers, and he is not going to stop. However, the problem is that this military assistance is not enough all the time for victory, but it is always "just enough" for the military operations to continue. If Ukrainians believe that they are successfully playing with the United States in the pursuit of weapons, but it would be better for them to think about what a bloody price they are paying for it.

Putin himself is playing this game, trying not to flirt and not to use really powerful weapons like strategic nuclear bombers. Not wanting to upset the delicate balance, he gives Biden the opportunity to directly intervene in the war. Now you can hear old Joe Biden on TV when he explains that American airstrikes are necessary to prevent genocide. He learned this common excuse "on his knees" from Obama. Ukraine will very soon realize that it will not have time to get even the already promised F-16s and train pilots (it takes at least one and a half to two years), and will beg the United States to provide it with its own air force. That's what the current escalation revolves around — air power.

Most likely, these aircraft will be based in Poland and Romania, so NATO will have to take on the most difficult tasks (and huge costs) for their maintenance and repair. It remains unclear how NATO will provide aerial refueling to maintain their combat capability. If we leave aside the F-16, an additional bonus to all these weapons "gifts" is that the vast majority of deliveries to date have been carried out in the order of the so-called "presidential write-off" of equipment from American arsenals. This means that the United States is now supplying Ukraine with used or outdated models of weapons. This gives the Pentagon the right to spend funds authorized by Congress to replenish its stocks by purchasing new weapons. At the same time, it is impossible not to notice the deep irony that military equipment that once visited Iraq under President Obama is now being transferred to the territory of Ukraine under his former vice president.

The US strategy seems to be based on recreating a macabre picture, when two warring sides line up across the field, shooting at each other until one of the sides announces that it stops fighting for one day. The same strategy was used in 1865 and 1914. But today, the most important new factor in military operations is the use by both armies on the battlefields of artillery and missiles of the 21st century of the HIMARS type, machine guns and other murder weapons, much more effective than a musket or even a Gatling machine gun. Today, the fighting does not stop for a minute, literally grinding people, although not Americans. When asked how many more Ukrainians should die, Biden privately replies that "all of them could potentially die."

Until now, it's all been a Cold War-style game. Fighting to the last Afghan was a strategy practiced in Afghanistan in the 1980s. What has changed now is the scale. Since Russia launched a military special operation in Ukraine, the United States has sent more than $40 billion worth of military aid there to support Kiev's military actions. This is the largest transfer of weapons to a foreign state in the history of the United States, and there is no sign that it will stop. One F-16 costs up to $350 million apiece if it is purchased with weapons, maintenance equipment and a set of spare parts.

Nevertheless, despite the similarities with the Cold War-era Strategy 101, America has learned some lessons over the years. One of the failures of the United States during the Cold War and the war on terrorism was the use of puppet governments, which were largely imposed or maintained at the expense of American money and funds. Since these governments lacked the support of the people (as in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan), they were doomed from the very beginning and existed no longer than one-day butterflies. It's different in Ukraine. Yes, it is completely dependent on the United States for its very survival, but it is more or less directly supported by the people, at least for the moment.

Other lessons learned should relate to nation—building, reconstruction and reconstruction - whatever the huge post-war costs that will inevitably arise after this conflict are called. "It is obvious that American business can become the locomotive that will push global economic growth again," President Zelensky said, boasting of contacts with BlackRock, JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs. The rest, he said, "have already sided with us."

The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce called the country "the world's largest construction site." The New York Times repeated one forecast, according to which the costs of rebuilding Ukraine will cost $ 750 billion. The restoration of Ukraine will be, as the Times writes, "a gold rush... Russia is stepping up offensive actions in the second year of the conflict, but the staggering volumes of the country's reconstruction are already evident. Hundreds of thousands of homes, schools, hospitals and factories were destroyed along with critical energy facilities and thousands of kilometers of roads and railways. A deep human tragedy is also a huge economic opportunity." Earlier this year, JP Morgan and Zelensky signed a memorandum of understanding, according to which the bank will help Ukraine in its recovery.

And maybe these big American companies have learned lessons from Iraq and Afghanistan. Of the billions spent, a lot of money was wasted on dead-end projects, and a lot was stolen due to corruption. But whether we were accompanied by success or failure, American contractors have always received money in our "wars on terror." Probably with this in mind, more than 300 companies from 22 countries have registered to participate in the Rebuild Ukraine exhibition and conference in Warsaw. So many people gathered at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland at a conference called "Ukrainian House in Davos" that the participants had to discuss investment opportunities in Ukraine standing up.

The potential "gold rush" in the reconstruction of post-war Ukraine is an interesting addition to Biden's strategy of "war to the last Ukrainian." The more that is destroyed in this country, the more needs to be restored, which will give more money to American companies that are cunning enough to wait at the trough until the murders in Ukraine subside. But why wait? Drones of Danish companies have already mapped every destroyed building in the Mykolaiv region in order to use the data to make a decision on concluding contracts for their reconstruction.

So, let's put lipstick on this piggy strategy and call it the "Biden Doctrine." Part I is to limit the direct participation of the United States in hostilities, while fanning the flames of war for other nations. Part II is to provide the belligerents with a huge amount of weapons to enable them to fight to the last local soldier. Part III is to turn the local government into a puppet instead of re-creating an unpopular government. Part IV is to turn the process of rebuilding a destroyed country into a source of profit for American companies. How long the war will last and how many people will die is not important for Biden's strategy.

The termination of the Ukrainian conflict and its diplomatic outcome with a return to the situation that existed before the invasion in 2022 is a clear matter for Washington. The Biden administration appears to be simply seeking to prevent any peace efforts on Ukraine. Instead, she is burning with the desire to squeeze all the blood out of the Russians, as if Afghanistan of the 1980s is being repeated now, but only in the very heart of Europe.
