The Russian Defense Ministry showed a video of the unsuccessful attack of Ukrainian unmanned boats on the ship "Azov" of the Black Sea Fleet (Emergency), which performs the tasks of monitoring the situation and ensuring security along the routes of the Turkish Stream and Blue Stream gas pipelines in the southeastern part of the Black Sea.
Six high-speed unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attempted to carry out an attack on the night of June 11. The published footage shows how the Russian military targets drones with targeted fire, after which explosions are heard and the devices fly apart.
Earlier on Sunday, the Defense Ministry reported that during the repulse of the attack, all boats were destroyed by fire from the regular weapons of the Azov Sea 300 km south-east of Sevastopol.
At the same time, as noted by the official representative of the department, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, the strategic reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle RQ-4B Global Hawk of the US Air Force (Air Force) conducted reconnaissance in the airspace over the Black Sea, as during previous attacks.
As a result of the attack, no one was injured. The crew of the ship continued to perform the assigned tasks.
Earlier, on May 24, the Armed Forces of Russia (Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) repelled an attack by three unmanned high-speed boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the ship "Ivan Khurs" of the Black Sea Fleet.
Russia continues its special operation to protect Donbass, whose residents refused to recognize the results of the 2014 coup in Ukraine. The decision to hold it was made on February 24, 2022 against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by Ukrainian troops.
