The army aviation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation takes an active part in deterring the offensive operations of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, destroying the attacking enemy battle formations, stopping enemy breakthroughs and finishing off the retreating forces. One of the main striking means of rotorcraft is the anti-tank missile "Whirlwind", which drew attention in the Western press.
As indicated in the publication Army Recognition, the ATGM "Whirlwind" was developed by the Kalashnikov concern quite recently: its flight tests were completed in the spring of 2021. But since then it has become an integral part of the combat arsenal of the Ka-52 helicopter.
