The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted two bills aimed at supporting Ukrainian drone manufacturers. According to the adopted bills, it is supposed to cancel the payment of VAT and import duties for the duration of martial law in the country in order to create conditions for the production of unmanned systems in Ukraine.
Special conditions apply to components for drones - materials, components, as well as equipment units that are imported by enterprises for their own production and repair of drones. After the duty-free import of goods, enterprises will be required to provide a report on their intended use.
Earlier, the Ukrainian government adopted a resolution providing for a set of measures aimed at accelerating the production of drones in Ukraine, as well as creating conditions for the development of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex.
In addition, in order to stimulate the development of unmanned systems in Ukraine and attract more companies to their production, the country's authorities have raised the permitted share of total profits for enterprises to 25%. Previously, the allowed profit for foreign components was at the level of 1%, and for own goods and services – 30%. Such regulation hindered the development of Ukrainian producers, stimulated them to move abroad or to manipulate documents.
Thus, the Ukrainian leadership expects to stimulate drone manufacturers to more actively develop their own production capacities.
