The Blueye X3 remotely operated underwater drones are entering service with the Norwegian Coast Guard. All her ships are now equipped with such devices.
This was reported in the press service of the Norwegian company Blueye Robotics, which is the manufacturer of these drones.
The Norwegian Coast Guard has made such a large order to supply its team of divers with the necessary number of "eyes" under the surface of the water in addition to the sensors they have. This will improve navigation capabilities and collect data more efficiently.

The device can be used both from the mother ship and from a boat of the "man overboard" type. Such drones can be used to collect evidence of an environmental crime, search for drugs and other prohibited items attached to the hull of a vessel, search for people missing at sea, and inspect stranded vessels. In addition, with the help of such a drone, it is convenient to inspect your own ship before going to sea to make sure that there are no unwanted objects installed by intruders.
The Norwegian Coast Guard chose the Blueye X3 because of its modular design, ease of operation and reliability. The device is quite portable and weighs only 9 kilograms, and its battery capacity allows you to work continuously for four hours.

The Blueye X3 underwater vehicle model itself began to be produced in 2021. Last year, a drone from Blueye Robotics was involved in the survey of the site of the explosion of the "Northern Streams" in the Baltic Sea. He sank to an 80-meter depth and found that some of the pipes were missing, and the fragments of others were scattered on the bottom.
