Oxyjump NG System Fighters of elite special forces (SAS, navy seals) during missions sometimes have to make long jumps from a height of up to 10,000 meters, while the fall speed can exceed 200 km / h.
For such extreme landings, they are equipped with special, usually bulky and heavy oxygen systems.
A division of Raytheon Technologies — Collins Aerospace — has developed a new OXYJUMP NG oxygen system, which includes an ergonomic mask that fits snugly to the face and a module that automatically regulates the supply of oxygen at high altitudes.
Oxyjump NG System As the paratrooper approaches the ground, the oxygen content decreases due to mixing with the outside air, as a result, high-altitude jumps (with special HALO and HAHO parachutes) become much safer.
Additionally, OXYJUMP NG is equipped with another balloon for aircraft with an unpressurized cabin for supplying pure oxygen and an automatic switching system responsible for switching from one balloon to another. For reliability, the system does not use parts made of plastic and composite materials.
