London. May 15. INTERFAX - British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Monday announced London's plans to form a coalition of countries in order to supply Kiev with fighter jets, as well as to organize training for Ukrainian pilots.
"Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky have stated that they want to create a coalition on fighter jets, in which the UK will play a key role," The Telegraph reports.
"We are talking not only about the supply of aircraft, but also about pilot training, about all related logistical support. The United Kingdom can play a significant role in this. Relatively soon we will start training Ukrainian pilots," the newspaper quotes Sunak from his meeting with Zelensky in London.
The Prime minister added that this week he will hold talks with the leaders of other states on the subject of this coalition.
Also, according to the Associated Press, Sunak on Monday promised to supply Ukraine with hundreds of missiles and long-range UAVs.
