Effective strikes on the rear will cause the enemy to have a shortage of reserves, weapons and ammunition at a time when particularly fierce and important battles are taking place on the line of contact, experts are sure. As a result, it will be much easier for our troops on the front line, they note.
High-precision strikes
On the night of May 14, the Russian Armed Forces struck with high-precision long-range air and sea-based weapons at the deployment points of the VFU units and storage sites for ammunition, weapons and military equipment received from Western countries. Targets were hit near the city of Ternopil, as well as near Petropavlovsk in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
— The target of the strike has been achieved. All designated facilities have been hit," said the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov.

He also said that in the area of the city of Khmelnitsky, the VFU ammunition depot was destroyed, and in Nikolaev — the arsenal of the Kherson group of troops.
A day earlier, on May 13, a VFU ammunition depot was destroyed near the city of Nikolaev. Not far from Zaporozhye there is a warehouse of aviation missile weapons and a fuel storage for Ukrainian military equipment, the military department reported.
As sources familiar with the situation told Izvestia, Ukrainian armed formations continue to attempt to transfer reinforcements, weapons and military equipment to the line of contact. Equipment and personnel are placed in intermediate locations.
According to the interlocutors of Izvestia, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation use modern intelligence means, identify such places and inflict massive missile and bomb attacks with high-precision weapons. Only last weekend, the enemy suffered serious losses — not only a large number of personnel were destroyed, but also samples of weapons and equipment supplied by NATO countries.

During May 13 and 14, an air alert was announced in all regions of Ukraine. The authorities of the Dnipropetrovsk region said on May 14 that several infrastructure facilities, including a transport enterprise, were damaged as a result of airstrikes. In addition, on this day, the administration of the Ternopil region announced repeated explosions after reports of "arrival" in the industrial zone of the regional center.
The authorities of the Kharkiv region reported that a transport infrastructure facility was damaged in the Novobavarsky district of the city. The destruction at the critical infrastructure facility in the city of Ochakov was reported by the leadership of the Mykolaiv region. A day earlier, it claimed damage to the plant in the regional center itself — a strong fire occurred at one of the enterprises.
The fighting has become more fierce — this is evidenced by the losses of a thousand or more people per day killed and wounded, as well as the number of burned armored vehicles, military expert Vasily Dandykin told Izvestia. According to him, strikes on military facilities in the rear areas in this situation are of particular importance.

— Thanks to such strikes, it will be much easier for our troops on the front line, — the expert explained. — The lack of weapons and ammunition from the enemy will allow our fighters to better repel attacks, destroy the enemy. The blow was effective — that's for sure. Zelensky did not start demanding more and more weapons in Europe for nothing, apparently, he learned about his results. Such strikes should be carried out systematically and throughout the entire territory, including Western Ukraine, where large warehouses of weapons from NATO countries have been created and where recently they have begun to forget that a special operation is underway.
VFU's losses are growing
On May 13 and 14, at least 1,405 people and 123 units of military equipment, including tanks, howitzers, self-propelled guns and armored vehicles, were lost in the special operation zone in all strategic directions of the VFU, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
In Kharkiv, Zaporizhia regions and the DPR, the actions of six Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups were suppressed.
In the western part of Artemovsk, Russian assault detachments continued to fight to liberate city blocks. Airborne units supported them, pinning down the enemy on the flanks.
For two days, the total losses of the VFU in the Donetsk direction amounted to more than 685 servicemen killed and wounded, 14 tanks, 21 infantry fighting vehicles, two armored fighting vehicles, a D-20 howitzer, four armored personnel carriers, four cars, two self-propelled howitzers "Acacia", a self-propelled artillery installation "Carnation", as well as a D-20 howitzer.30.

In the DPR, the target guidance radar station of the Ukrainian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system was destroyed, the command and observation post of the battalion of the 5th assault Brigade of the VFU was hit. In addition, a warehouse of rocket and artillery weapons of the VFU group was destroyed in the area of Kramatorsk.
Also, in the DPR and the Zaporozhye region, the command and observation posts of the units of the 5th assault and 44th artillery brigades of the VFU were defeated.
The Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Su-27 aircraft near the settlement of Novogrodovka in the DPR, and a Mi—8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force was shot down near Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region. In addition, 36 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed in two days.
Also, the Ministry of Defense reported that on May 12, Ukraine launched a missile attack on the polymer products enterprise "Polypak" and the meat processing plant "Milam" in Lugansk, using Storm Shadow aircraft missiles supplied by the UK.

As a result of the strike, a fire started on the territory of enterprises, nearby residential buildings were destroyed, civilians, including six children, were injured.
The Ukrainian Su-24 bomber that launched a missile strike on Lugansk and the Mig-29 covering it were shot down by the fighter aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
Order for the Attack
The Russian Defense Ministry told about the servicemen who showed courage and dedication in the battles.
The motorized rifle platoon of Lieutenant Ramazan Agamirzoev, acting as part of a battalion tactical group, carried out a combat mission to capture a strategically important height. The assault groups lined up in battle formations and launched an attack. Ramadan's platoon inflicted fire damage on the enemy's defenses on the flank in order to distract their main forces from the direction of the main strike. As a result, our servicemen broke through the defense and took an enemy stronghold, destroying more than 20 militants.

During the battle, Agamirzoev received a severe concussion, but this did not prevent him from completing the combat mission. For the courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty, Lieutenant Ramazan Agamirzoev was awarded the Order of Courage.
During the special operation, Ensign Fuad Dzhabrailov repeatedly took wounded servicemen from the battlefield and provided them with first aid. Arriving in the area of the clash, Fuad carried four wounded from the battlefield and organized their transportation to the hospital.
During the movement along the route, the car, along with the wounded, was fired at by Ukrainian militants. Under continuous enemy fire, Fuad took the car out of the firing zone and delivered the wounded soldiers to a medical facility, which saved their lives.
