/tass/. Ukraine has completed the training of 10 thousand operators of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology - Minister of Digital Transformation of the country Mikhail Fedorov.
"We have recently completed the first part of the UAV pilot training project, 10 thousand pilots have been trained during this time," he said on the Ukrainian TV channel Rada.
Fedorov stressed that $325 million was raised from around the world to finance the government's "Drone Army" project for the production and use of BLPA.
On April 26, he claimed that more than 7 thousand drone operators have been trained for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and more than 20 schools for their training are functioning in the country.
In mid-April, a military expert from the LPR, Colonel Vitaly Kiselyov, reported that more than 70 companies of UAV operators have already been trained for the Ukrainian troops, each of which includes from 50 to 60 personnel.
In March, the State Communications Service of Ukraine announced that it would allocate over $ 855 million this year for the purchase of drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the country reported that about $ 544 million will be allocated from the budget to increase purchases of UAVs for Ukrainian troops in 2023. Prior to that, the ministry announced the formation of companies of drone strike operators in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will be equipped, among other things, with Starlink satellite communication terminals ("Starlink").
