What kind of tanks, armored vehicles and SAMs will viewers see in Moscow and the regions of RussiaThe basis of the parade calculations, which on May 9 this year will be held in a solemn march on Red Square, will be military equipment of a special military operation.
In particular, viewers will see T-90M, T-72B3M tanks, modified infantry fighting vehicles BMP-3 and armored personnel carriers BTR-82. These products will be presented already modified based on combat experience. In particular, new elements of reservation and protection appeared on the equipment. The parade will not do without novelties. So, for the first time the general public will be shown armored vehicles "MIC-Ural" and "Akhmat". They were developed last year taking into account the experience of the SVO and are already being massively supplied to the troops.
Ceremonial debut
According to the plans for the Victory Parade on Red Square, as well as in some regions, the basis of calculations will be samples of weapons and military equipment that are currently involved in a special military operation. First of all, we are talking about T-72B3M tanks, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, BTR-82 armored personnel carriers. Most of the samples presented are machines upgraded taking into account the experience of their own.
So, in Rostov-on-Don, viewers will be able to see two versions of the T-72B3M tank at the same time. The first is a version of the 2021 model car. It can be distinguished by the characteristic armored screens placed on the sides of the car. The second is the T-72B3M in the 2022 modification, also called an assault tank or a tank-SVO. Its feature is an increased number of dynamic protection units and additional booking elements.

One of the brightest participants of the May 9 parade is the C—350 Vityaz anti-aircraft missile system. This technique can be seen not only on Red Square, but also in other cities of Russia. Until recently, its characteristics were known only from the results of tests at landfills. However, now it has ceased to be a demonstration vehicle and is effectively involved in combat operations.
The S-350 Vityaz air defense system is capable of intercepting not only airplanes and helicopters, but also ballistic missiles.
They are closer to medium-range systems, but at the same time they can cover particularly important objects: military bases, large cities or nuclear power plants. One of their advantages is high mobility, which allows you to quickly transfer air defense systems to important areas. The maximum range of hitting air targets at the S-350 is 120 km. The system can work independently, as well as as part of an air defense group.
For the first time, two new armored vehicles will be presented at the parade. Z-STS "Akhmat" owes its appearance to the military special operation in Ukraine. It was created after its beginning and taking into account the experience of combat operations. The designers had to develop an inexpensive, as simple as possible in production, but maneuverable and protected vehicle for transporting military personnel in the shortest possible time. They coped with this task in 25 days. For example, seven to ten times less time is spent on the production of the Akhmat than on the creation of armored vehicles of the Typhoon family.
"Akhmat" is made on a three-axle all-wheel drive chassis "KamAZ-5350" with a wheel formula of 6X6. It is characterized by good cross-country ability and reliable during operation. The main feature is the absence of a load—bearing body that is difficult to manufacture. The armored capsule, which can accommodate 10 military personnel, is mounted on the frame.

The armored vehicle, unlike the base truck, is built according to the hood scheme. This was not done by chance. Two meters of the hood in front of the cab is a guarantee that when an anti—tank mine is detonated, the driver and passengers in the cab will remain alive.
The armored car AMN-590951 "MIC-Ural" is built on a two-axle chassis of the truck "Ural". It is designed to transport nine servicemen in full combat gear in an armored capsule.
The turret of the car is equipped with a 12.7 mm machine gun "Cord". The fighter has a circular armor protection. Additional windows made of armored glass, provide him with a good overview and timely detection of the enemy.
The front and side surfaces, including glass, are able to withstand the impact of armor-piercing incendiary bullets.
The bottom protects the crew from detonation of explosive devices under the wheel up to 6 kg in TNT equivalent. The car can accelerate up to 100 km per hour. She also underwent baptism of fire during a special operation in Ukraine.

— The parade itself, which takes place at such a time, is already a significant event. And the fact that there will be participants in the special operation is also extremely important," military expert Viktor Murakhovsky told Izvestia. — An extensive range of equipment has been refined taking into account the experience of its own: tanks, self-propelled artillery installations. The most important thing is that modernization is carried out continuously based on the results of the battles. For example, the T-72B3M tanks are probably being improved every month.
Among the most important changes of the T-72B3M according to the results of combat use during the SVO are the replacement of soft armor protection with steel crowns, an increase in the number of dynamic protection units, the installation of a new laser rangefinder and sight, sources told Izvestia in the defense industry.
After the upgrade, this tank became comparable in fire capabilities with the latest models. The car is equipped with a powerful 1130 hp engine, automatic transmission, protective screens, modern dynamic protection "Relict". The armament complex includes the 2A46M-5-01 cannon, which is also capable of launching anti-tank missiles, 12.7 mm and 7.62 mm machine guns. The Sosna-U fire control system includes a thermal imager, a laser rangefinder and a target tracking machine. The equipment of the machine allows the gunner-operator to detect and destroy objects day and night in any weather.
The T-90M remains today the most modern and most advanced tank of the Russian army. During the modernization, he received an improved 2A46M5-01 cannon and a more powerful diesel engine. The machine is equipped with an automated fire control system "Kalina" and a remotely controlled anti-aircraft machine gun "Cord-MT".

The T-90M is a very protected vehicle. Anti-shatter screens made of Kevlar fabric are installed inside the combat compartment, the main part of the ammunition is placed in a special box behind the turret, the tank has received a more powerful reservation.
The BMP-3, the most modern infantry fighting vehicles in service, will also be presented at the parade. From the representatives of previous modifications, it differs in the same more powerful armor and increased fire capabilities. The vehicle is armed with a 100—millimeter 2A40 cannon, it is also an ATGM launcher, a 30-millimeter 2A42 automatic cannon, as well as three 7.62-millimeter machine guns: two course and one paired with a gun.
According to Izvestia's sources, the BMP-3 was modified taking into account the experience of its use in a special military operation. In particular, it received additional armored screens and elements of dynamic armor protection.
On May 4, Rostec State Corporation reported that the Kurganmashzavod enterprise had increased production of the BMP-3 several times. The holding noted that for the first quarter of this year, the same number of infantry fighting vehicles were delivered as for the whole of 2019.
