/tass/. Rostec State Corporation plans to consolidate artillery armament enterprises in order to increase the supply of modern weapons to the Russian troops in accordance with the needs of a special military operation. This was reported to TASS on Tuesday in the state corporation.
"We intend to consolidate the enterprises of the artillery armament industry so that all the competencies for the development, production, repair and maintenance of artillery are concentrated in one place," the state corporation said in a statement.
"Rostec will transfer several assets of Uralvagonzavod to the Techmash concern. We are talking about the enterprises of the Central Research Institute "Burevestnik", "Uraltransmash" and plant No. 9, which are engaged, among other things, in the production of barrel artillery systems. The plants will be transferred in the coming weeks. At the same time, their teams will remain on the ground and will be engaged in the usual business," the telegram channel of the state corporation notes.
Rostec added that Uralvagonzavod (UVZ, part of Rostec Group of Companies) will focus on its main tank theme. "The regrouping will allow us to increase the supply of modern weapons to the troops in accordance with the needs of a special military operation and build a well-coordinated system of artillery weapons service. This will have a positive impact both on solving the tasks of the state and on the economy of the industry," the state corporation concluded.
Plant No. 9 produces D-30A howitzers, guns for T-72 and T-90 tanks. Ural Plant of Transport Engineering (Uraltransmash) produces self-propelled howitzers "Msta-S", Central Research Institute "Burevestnik" develops artillery systems and mortars, as well as installations for naval artillery.
