US Ambassador to Russia Lynn Tracy will not attend a meeting of the State Duma commission on Tuesday, the American embassy in Moscow told RIA Novosti.
U.S. Ambassador Lynn Tracy was invited to a meeting of the State Duma commission to investigate the facts of foreign interference in Russia's internal affairs on April 18 to give explanations about the activities of U.S. biological laboratories in Ukraine, the commission's press service reported.
"The US Embassy in Moscow confirms that we have declined the invitation of the State Duma to Ambassador Tracy to attend a meeting of the State Duma commission," the press service of the diplomatic mission reported. The embassy noted that the American side had previously declared its commitment to its obligations under the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons, and also rejected accusations of the production of this type of weapons.
"We believe that the process of consultations with Russia (on this issue) has been completed. There is nothing more to add about this," the agency interlocutor noted.
