TSAMTO, April 17. Rostec State Corporation and Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region are creating a joint venture in the field of information security.
The parties, through their profile subsidiaries, became shareholders of the Altius Lab company, which will deal with countering cyber threats and increasing the level of information technology security of the country's transport infrastructure, primarily in the field of air traffic management.
Altius Lab will develop a direction to improve the level of information security of the Unified Air Traffic Management System. The company will search for and eliminate critical vulnerabilities at the stage of designing and upgrading information systems, as well as integrating domestic developments in the field of information security. An information security monitoring center is being formed to counter cyber threats. In the future, the company plans to enter the foreign market.
Almaz-Antey is our long–standing strategic partner. The work is carried out in line with the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation, where information security is designated as one of the main priorities of the country. The specialists of the joint venture will have a unique set of knowledge based on the long-term experience of the two corporations. This approach will allow porting the best practices of the parties for the effective functioning of information security systems," said Nikolay Volobuev, Deputy Director General of Rostec State Corporation.
As part of the partnership, Rostec's corporate competence center in the field of information security, IB Reform, will provide the joint venture with trusted hardware and software solutions of its own design. The Aeronautical and Information Systems Company (part of Rostec) and the Almaz Scientific and Production Association (part of Almaz-Antey) will provide human resources and expertise in the field of air traffic management.
Dmitry Savitsky, Deputy General Director of the Almaz-Antey Concern of East Kazakhstan Region, noted the importance of the appearance of a cybersecurity company on the domestic market, which is a joint venture of two leading Russian defense industry holdings. "Taking into account modern conditions, the combination of the production and scientific potentials of the Almaz-Antey Concern and Rostec in the field of information security creates an opportunity to significantly, taking into account the priority of state interests, increase the level of information and technological security of Russian transport infrastructure facilities, primarily air traffic management," Dmitry Savitsky said.
Altius Lab will not only combine the expertise of both parties in the activities of information security systems, but will also allow for effective implementation of import substitution procedures for IT and information security products.
