The start of serial deliveries of domestic MS-21 aircraft of the latest development is scheduled for 2024, when the first six airliners will be transferred to Russian airlines. This is reported by Rostec Corporation.
The state corporation clarified that the pace of production of the latest domestic airliners will gradually increase. The enterprise of the United Engine Corporation in Perm has already launched serial production of PD-14 powerplants, which will be equipped with new aircraft.
These power plants are currently the most advanced and high-tech development in the field of Russian mechanical engineering. It is assumed that the PD-14 as part of the MS-21-310 airliners will become the main engine used in domestic civil aviation over the next few decades.
It is planned to launch the production of 160 engines of this type annually by 2030. To achieve this ambitious plan, it was decided to open a new center in Perm that trains specialists in the field of aircraft construction.
The MS-21 is a medium-haul passenger aircraft of a new generation with a capacity from 163 to 211 passengers. The newest airliner was created on the basis of the latest developments in the field of aircraft construction and is designed for the most popular segment of the domestic passenger air transportation market.
