The Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of training sessions for operators of multifunctional drones-quadrocopters of the Western Military District before performing combat missions in the zone of a special military operation.
The ministry clarified that operators will have to control drones and conduct reconnaissance, search for targets, adjust fire and record their defeat on video in the conditions of interference of electronic warfare (EW) of the enemy. Nevertheless, the Russian military manages to constantly find and transfer the positions of Ukrainian soldiers to the control points.
Drones are equipped with a powerful camera and thermal imager to search and recognize targets. According to the coordinates transmitted by the drone operator, artillery opens fire. Also, using copters, the movement of military equipment, camouflaged command posts and firing points, as well as new enemy fortified areas are monitored.
The video shows classes in the classroom, where the instructor teaches the fighters to determine from the image from the drone's camera how best to continue its flight or what happened to the drone if the flight stopped. Practical exercises are also demonstrated, future operators are told how to hang grenades on drones and catch the devices correctly after the flight.
In addition, beginners are taught to remove the battery from the drone immediately after the flight, so that it does not run out, and instantly leave the place where the drone arrived. If suddenly the signal was intercepted by the enemy, an enemy projectile may fly into the operator.
"The main emphasis is on engineering training, on the preparation of ammunition of all available modifications, in order to use them skillfully and competently. The eyes begin to burn on the second day, they understand the need for all these classes," the head of unmanned aviation of one of the groups of troops with the call sign "Amikan" told reporters.
As noted, in turn, a fighter with the call sign "Dandelion", who did not hold a quadcopter in his hands before the army, but took courses and is already working on the contact line, there is a powerful confrontation of electronic means.
He clarified that with the help of drones, it is possible to damage lightly armored and heavily armored vehicles, as well as damage fortified areas by throwing a grenade into a dugout.
