In Ukraine, the American M58 MICLIC (Mine Clearing Line Charge) remote mine clearance systems have been noticed, which are actually an analogue of the Soviet UR-77 Meteorite system. A video with the use of this system by the Ukrainian military appeared the day before on Ukrainian and Russian resources.
The units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to use the American M58 MICLIC mine clearance system to make passages in minefields. The video that appeared on the Network shows the use of this system at one of the sites on the contact line, or at some APU training ground in the rear areas, details are not given. The American MRAP "International MaxxPro" is used to tow a trailer with a mine clearance system.
The United States did not report on the delivery of this mine clearance system to Ukraine, so there is no way to say when the M58 MICLIC appeared in service with the AFU. The Americans talked about the inclusion of mine clearance systems in various packages of military assistance several times, but without any specifics, they simply designated positions.
The M58 MICLIC remote mine clearance system (Mine Clearing Line Charge - extended mine clearance charge) is designed for making passages in minefields. To do this, a charge of explosive C4 weighing 794 kg is used, placed in a flexible hose 106 meters long. The charge is supplied by a solid-fuel rocket, after detonation, a passage is formed in a minefield with a width of 8 and a length of 100 meters. The system itself is housed in a single-axle or bi-axle trailer, which can be towed using various armored vehicles.
