INTERFAX - The DPRK National Defense Academy conducted another test of the underwater strategic weapons system from March 25 to 27, KCNA reports.

According to the agency, a Heil-1 type underwater vehicle capable of carrying a nuclear warhead was involved in a test in the afternoon of March 25 in the Wonsan Bay.

In 41 hours and 27 minutes, he sailed along sawtooth and oval trajectories with a length of 600 km in the Sea of Japan, KCNA reports.

"In the morning of March 27, (the device, - "IF") reached its intended target - the sea in front of the Khwade County of North Hamgyong Province, where its test warhead accurately exploded underwater," the report says.

It is noted that as a result of the test, "all tactical and technical characteristics (...) were evaluated the system, its reliability and safety have been confirmed."

In addition, according to KCNA, on March 27, exercises were held on the demonstration launch of missiles, aimed at ensuring that "the units at the military unit worked out the order and processes of performing an important task of delivering a fire strike."

According to the agency, two tactical ground-to-ground ballistic missiles were launched in the strike mode through a nuclear explosion in the air.

"The training company, delivering a conditional nuclear strike in the Ryokpho district on an island target in front of the city of Kimcheek in North Hamgyong province, detonated a warhead in the air at an altitude of 500 meters above the target," the KCNA clarifies.

Earlier it was reported that the DPRK launched two short-range ballistic missiles on Monday morning.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean Armed Forces said they detected launches from the area of Chunghwa County in Hwanghae-Pukto Province starting at about 7:47 am (1:47 GMT).

According to military estimates, the missiles flew about 370 km before falling into the sea.

The Ministry of Defense of Japan reported that the flight range of both missiles was about 350 km, and the altitude was about 50 km, both of them fell outside the exclusive economic zone of Japan.
