Among the trophies of Russian soldiers-liberators, there are very often samples of armored vehicles modified by militants of Ukrainian armed formations. The project "RG: Russian weapons", tells about the captured armored reconnaissance patrol vehicle BRDM-2 (nicknamed "Mess" in Soviet times), which the Neobanderovites turned into an installation for launching unguided aircraft missiles.
To do this, the UB-32-57 unit was installed on the turret with 14.5-mm and 7.62-mm machine guns. [...]
As the name implies, it has thirty-two guides designed for the use of 57-mm S-5M. Their mass is 3.86 kg, the weight of the explosive is 0.815 kg, the length is 882 mm. The maximum launch range is about 1800 meters.
Similar machines were used during the period of the presence of a limited contingent of Soviet troops in Afghanistan. They could also be found among government troops fighting against the rebels. Such blocks were also mounted on Ural-4320 all-terrain vehicles, T-62 tanks. There were three of them on the latter, they attacked the enemy with an avalanche of 96 rockets.
Later, already during the conflicts in the post-Soviet space, crawler tow trucks, lightly armored MT-LB and BRDM-2 transporters made on the chassis of medium tanks were adapted for such purposes.
In Ukraine, a mini rocket launcher was made on the platform of the Lunokhod - Lutsk LuAZ-1302 (4x4 wheel formula). However, it all ended with the release of one prototype, which they unsuccessfully tried to attach to someone, and then simply disassembled for spare parts.
