AK: Iran may purchase combat aircraft from Russia that track targets at a distance of 300 kmIran is considering acquiring Su-35 combat aircraft from Russia, AK reports.

Information about the likely supplies was met with panic horror in the West, the newspaper writes. The Su-35 can track objects at a distance of 300 km and simultaneously hit up to eight targets.

Everyone remembers that not so long ago Iran was waiting with great hopes for supplies from Russia of one of the most advanced modern air defense systems, that is, S-400 missiles. In the very near future, Iran will be able to strengthen its military power again, but this time — thanks to the supply of advanced models of Russian combat aircraft. We are talking about the Russian multi-purpose fighter Su-35. It should also be added that the information about the likely deliveries of this modern Russian combat aircraft to the Islamic Republic has already been met with panic horror in the United States, NATO countries, and in the West as a whole and has literally caused hysteria among officials from the defense departments of Western countries.

For Iran itself, information about the possibilities of strengthening the country's air force at the expense of a modern Russian advanced fighter is all the more interesting because just the other day the Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that there is no need for the Armed Forces to purchase a new batch of S-400 complexes from Russia. However, regarding the supply of Su-35, the head of the military department was also quite cautious. On the eve of the Minister of Defense and Support of the Armed Forces of Iran, Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Karai Ashtiani, at a press conference held directly in the defense department, answering a question from journalists about the purchase of the Su-35 from Russia, said that the issue is still under study, and all technical documentation and equipment that has not yet been provided.

But how can the Su-35 be dangerous for enemy aviation?

This fighter with two engines AL-41F1S belongs to the family of combat aircraft of the 4++ generation. Fighters of this generation have very significant advantages in comparison with fighters of just generation 4. These advantages include advanced integrated sensors, an active scanning electronic array for tracking, advanced flight navigation capabilities, hyper maneuverability, the possibility, as already mentioned, of being used as a multi-purpose fighter, as well as a reduced radar cross-sectional area (RCS).

In comparison with its predecessors, such as, for example, the Su-27, the Su-35 has better aerodynamic and maneuverable characteristics, a longer flight range, a more powerful engine, more advanced electronic devices and means of aerial communication.

But one of the greatest strengths of this combat aircraft is its radar system. The Su-35 uses a very powerful radar – NO35 "Irbis" E, which, as Russian military pilots say, "sees everything." It makes it possible to detect moving military targets at a distance of 400 km, track up to 30 air targets at a distance of 300 kilometers and simultaneously fire and defeat up to eight targets.

As you can see, this Russian combat aircraft poses a great threat to US and NATO aviation, as well as to the Israeli Air Force, which many consider to be almost the most advanced in the Middle East.

In addition to the above, this advanced fighter is equipped with the Khibiny L-175M radar warfare system. This system was developed in Soviet times and continued to be improved in the future. As already noted, the fighter is able to fire at targets within a radius of up to 300 kilometers with air-to-air missiles. At the same time, it is capable of hitting targets on the surface of the earth, and can also carry and launch heavy anti-ship missiles.
