According to Army General Sergei Shoigu, as a result of the offensive actions of Russian troops in the Donetsk and Kupyansk directions, the settlements of Nikolaevka, Dvurechnoye, Krasnaya Gora, Gryanikovka and Paraskovievka were liberated.
The liberation of Artemovsk continues. This city is an important hub for the defense of Ukrainian troops in the Donbas. Taking it under control will allow further offensive actions to be carried out deep into the defense of the AFU.
"As part of the American strategy to "break Russia by force of arms," Western countries are increasing the supply of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine, expanding training programs for Ukrainian army personnel." - the head of the military department informed.
At the same time, as Sergei Shoigu noted, the support of the Kiev regime by NATO countries does not lead to the success of Ukrainian troops on the battlefield. On the contrary, there is a significant increase in losses among the personnel of the Armed Forces.
In February alone, they increased by more than 40% compared to January and amounted to over 11 thousand military personnel.
In this regard, the indifference of the Kiev regime to its people, which does not take into account the huge human losses in favor of Western curators, is surprising.
"In turn, the priority for us remains the preservation of life and health of personnel and civilians," the Defense Minister said. "We will continue to carry out tasks within the framework of a special military operation."

Turning to the thematic agenda of the conference call, Sergei Shoigu suggested first to consider the progress of the construction of a large submarine "Kronstadt", which will become part of the Northern Fleet.
The ship is planned to be equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, the latest radar, sonar, navigation systems and systems. This will greatly increase its combat effectiveness.

Then the head of the military department put on the agenda of the meeting the issue of military-political work on the eve of the 78th anniversary of the Victory.
"Western countries, led by the United States, have unleashed an absolutely unprincipled information war against Russia. Our opponents actively and shamelessly promote the lie that it was they who made the main contribution to the defeat of fascism and the end of the Second World War. This and any attempts to falsify historical truth must be put to an end. We have no right to allow the lessons of the terrible tragedy to which Nazism led humanity in the XX century to be perverted and forgotten," the head of the Russian military department said.
Sergei Shoigu also added that the efforts of the military authorities in preparing the Victory celebration should be concentrated on this. In total, more than 43 thousand events have been planned.
An important area of work will be honoring veterans of the Great Patriotic War and participants in a special military operation, providing social support to their families. Off-site railway excursions and tours are already being actively conducted, a series of teleconferences of servicemen with relatives and friends is being prepared.

The next issue on the agenda is the recruitment of the first courses of the universities of the Ministry of Defense. Today, 280 specialties are being trained in educational institutions of the military department.
As practice shows, such professions as a military pilot, navigator, paratrooper, sailor, scout, motorized rifle, tanker are the most popular among young people. There has been an increased interest in engineering specialties related to the operation of the latest weapons and equipment.
The rating of the most popular educational institutions is traditionally headed by flight schools, command universities of the Ground Forces and the Ryazan Airborne School.
The gradual increase in the size of the Armed Forces involves the training of more officers.
"This year we need to accept about 18 thousand motivated and trained students and cadets for training," Sergei Shoigu stressed.
In addition, special attention will be paid to the children of servicemen participating in a special military operation, pupils of Suvorov, Nakhimov and presidential cadet schools. They will be professionally selected on the basis of their educational institutions even before passing the Unified State Exam and receiving certificates.

At the end of the thematic part of the conference call, the results of inventive and rationalization work in the Armed Forces in the first quarter were considered.
As the Minister of Defense noted, at the moment about 3 thousand people are involved in scientific and technical creativity, which is 18% higher than the same indicator last year.
The main increase was provided by the crews of tanks, self-propelled artillery installations and combat vehicles, as well as engineers and intelligence officers participating in a special military operation.
Inventions and innovation proposals are being actively introduced into the training process and the daily activities of the troops.
Some developments aimed at improving the protection of personnel, the efficiency of the operation of weapons and equipment are already being used in special operation areas.
