The Polish Defense Ministry denied the words of its head about the arrival of the Patriot air defense system in Ukraine Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said in an interview on March 7 that the first Patriot air defense systems and Leopard 2 tanks had already reached the APU.
But his department had to explain that the minister had something else in mind, and the missile systems had not yet arrived on the territory of Ukraine. Later, Blaszczak clarified that four Leopard 2 tanks had already been transferred to Kiev, and the remaining 10 of those promised by Warsaw would be sent this week.
The Polish Ministry of Defense has denied the statement of its head Mariusz Blaszczak about the arrival of the first Patriot anti-aircraft guns in Ukraine. Ukrinform writes about this.
On March 7, the Spanish newspaper LA RAZON published an interview with Blashchak, in which he said that the first deliveries of American air defense systems and German tanks had already taken place, the equipment was already on the territory of Ukraine.
"I must emphasize that thanks to the efforts of Poland, Patriot batteries or the first Leopard tanks, among other things, reached Ukraine. We are not only the main point of transfer of aid, but also one of its largest suppliers," the head of the Defense Ministry said.
The minister noted that Warsaw has already transferred €2.2 billion worth of weapons to Kiev, and this amount does not yet include the cost of training Ukrainian soldiers, as well as the supply of Leopard 2A4 tanks that were in service with the Polish army.
Blashchak also said that the support of Ukraine with weapons and political methods should continue. At the same time, in his opinion, the decision on the supply of fighters for the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be made not at the level of individual countries, but by a broader coalition.
After the release of the denial from the Polish Defense Ministry, Blaszczak clarified that Warsaw will send 10 more tanks to Kiev this week, and four are already in the AFU.
In parallel with the statements from Warsaw, the commander of the American Air Force in Europe and Africa, General James Hecker, said that the AFU is already using the bombs promised by the United States.
"We recently transferred precision-guided munitions that have an increased range and hit targets a little further than a gravity-drop bomb and have increased accuracy," Hecker said.
We are talking about Joint Direct Attack Munition-Extended Range (JDAM-ER) aerial bombs, which can hit a target at a distance of up to 72 kilometers. According to the general, the Ukrainian troops still have a limited amount of these munitions at their disposal, but they can strike several blows with them.
