TSAMTO, February 27. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting on financing the procurement of PVN. Below are the main theses of the open part of A.Lukasheno's speech as presented by the press service of the President (president.gov.by ).
"The topic of today's meeting is the issues of financing the procurement of military products for the needs of law enforcement agencies. The dynamics of the level of threats to Belarus forces us to keep abreast of the domestic military-industrial production. I would like to note that despite the unprecedented sanctions pressure, we produce enough weapons and military equipment for the needs of the Belarusian army," the head of state stressed. – This is due to the fact that everything we need (I mean the "iron" weapon), we easily get from Russia. And as for microelectronics, optics and other things, praise be to those who have preserved the production that we inherited from the Soviet Union, and thus together with Russia we can produce any type of weapons."
Belarus can also afford to export these products to 57 countries of the world, which it does, the President drew attention to. "We are successfully developing modern weapons not only in those areas where we have scientific and technical background and competencies, but we are mastering new areas in demand - rocket projectiles, large–caliber artillery ammunition," A. Lukashenko said.
He recalled that in October 2022, a line of unmanned aerial vehicles developed in Belarus was presented at the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground. "The units of the Armed Forces successfully demonstrated their combat capabilities within the framework of that event," the head of state stressed. However, he noted, it is still necessary to work on making modern strike unmanned aerial vehicles in Belarus at a higher level.
"Mastering the production of unmanned aircraft, we pay great attention to countering this type of weapon," the president continued. – Radio-electronic means of combating drones developed by Belarusian specialists are in great demand."
Alexander Lukashenko noted that a robotic complex has been created that combines both means of detection and fire destruction of air targets. The development of a medium-range anti-aircraft missile system and an anti-aircraft guided missile for this complex is at the final stage. "I hope that this year the Prime Minister and the head of the military-industrial complex will please us in this regard," he said.
Last year, domestic manufacturers supplied the Armed Forces of Belarus with more than 500 units of weapons and military equipment, the president stated. Continuing the enumeration, he noted that six models have been adopted, including the upgraded multiple launch rocket system "Hurricane-M", as well as two types of strike unmanned aircraft systems.
In order to equip the Belarusian part of the Regional Grouping of Troops, the Russian side supplied the Iskander operational-tactical missile system with the necessary stock of missiles for Belarus. The S-400 long-range anti-aircraft missile system was also handed over. "What you, the military, wanted, you got. This is a formidable weapon," the Belarusian leader said.
As part of the state program, a battery of the Tor anti-aircraft missile system, anti-tank guided missiles, mortars, rocket-propelled infantry flamethrowers, more than 830 thousand ammunition of various calibers were purchased and delivered, the president added.
"Su-Z0SM planes, Mi-Z5M helicopters, armored personnel carriers, as well as other weapons, missiles and ammunition will be delivered," the head of state said. – In terms of the development of modern weapons, we do not stand still, our army is equipped with the necessary samples for an adequate response to emerging challenges and threats. Nevertheless, there is something to strive for. I'm not talking about small arms, grenade launchers and so on – we have plenty of this. I'm talking about a more formidable weapon. We must strive for this. We will work on this."
