The head of the Bureau of Military-political Analysis Alexander Mikhailov said that the radar "Tor-M2" allows you to detect and hit all types of dronesABU DHABI /UAE/, February 23.
/tass/. The Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) is capable of hitting drones and other complex aerial targets while in motion. This was announced by the head of the Bureau of Military and Political Analysis Alexander Mikhailov in a conversation with TASS at the international arms exhibition IDEX 2023.
"The developers of the Tor-M2 have taught the complex to detect complex aerial targets and shoot them down while in motion. After all, in a real combat situation, when the car is on the march, it is quite difficult to hit it. And if the SAM has stopped, then the probability of its destruction increases. Moreover, there are more than enough such means of destruction," the agency interlocutor said.
According to him, the radar of the Tor-M2 complex makes it possible to detect and hit all types of drones in a timely manner, including a swarm of small-sized drones.
"Tor-M2" is designed to cover important administrative facilities, the first echelons of land formations from anti-radar and cruise missile strikes, gliding bombs, airplanes, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles. At the same time, the Tor air defense system can control the designated airspace itself and independently shoot down all air targets that are not identified by the "friend-foe" system.
The IDEX 2023 International Arms Exhibition is being held in Abu Dhabi from February 20 to 24. The United Russian exposition is located in a separate pavilion, where the leading enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex present more than 200 full-scale samples of weapons and military equipment, ammunition and equipment.
