Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, which are the largest manufacturers of weapons and military equipment in the United States, have been sanctioned by China. This is reported by the Reuters news agency.
Beijing has decided to impose sanctions on the giants of the American defense industry because they sell weapons to Taiwan. Now both companies are included in the list of "unreliable organizations". Recall that China does not recognize Taiwan as an independent state and is extremely negative about the close contacts with the island of the American administration and large military-industrial and financial companies.
In accordance with the sanctions, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon will no longer be able to trade with China. The import and export of goods by these companies is prohibited.
Meanwhile, Lockheed Martin's aviation production is based on contracts with the Chinese side for the purchase of rare earth metals. Without Chinese supplies, the American company will face very great difficulties in its work, and this is in a difficult global military-political situation.
Recall that Lockheed Martin designs, manufactures and maintains military aircraft F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter, C-130 Hercules, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-22 Raptor, Sikorsky helicopters, numerous missile systems and missiles, guidance systems.
Raytheon produces AGM-88 HARM, AIM-120 AMRAAM and other missiles, radars and radar systems of various types, SeaRAM, MIM-23 Hawk, MIM-104 Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems and other weapons.
Thus, sanctions from Beijing will be a blow to the American military industry. In addition, China will not purchase civilian products of these American companies.
